Red Beans And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. red or pinto beans
    2 stalks chopped celery
    1 lb. ham pieces
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 chopped green pepper
    1 lb. smoked sausage
    1/2 tsp. red pepper
    3 bay leaves
Preparation
    Wash the beans and soak overnight. Drain the beans and place in a large pot. Cut sausage into 1/2-inch pieces and brown in a little oil. Remove sausage and saut onion, celery and green pepper in drippings. Add all ingredients to the beans. Cover with water and bring to a boil; reduce heat and cook slowly until beans are tender. Serve over rice.
