Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. broccoli (fresh or frozen)
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 c. flour
    1 qt. chicken broth
    1 qt. half and half
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. white pepper
Preparation
    Chop broccoli and steam in 1/2 cup water until tender (don't drain).
    Set aside.
    Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and whip.
    Cook 2 to 4 minutes on low heat.
    Add chicken broth; stir and bring to a boil.
    Add broccoli, then half and half, salt and pepper.
    Heat, but do not boil.
