Scratch Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 egg yolks
    3 c. milk *
    2 Tbsp. butter *
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
Preparation
    Mix egg yolks and milk before adding to dry ingredients.
    Stir while cooking on medium-high heat until near boiling, then reduce to medium until thickened.
    Remove from heat and add butter and flavoring.
