Low-Fat Taco Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. water
    1 small onion, chopped
    3 (4 oz.) cans chopped green chilies
    1 tsp. salt (optional)
    1 pkg. taco seasoning
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 (15 oz.) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
    1 (16 oz.) can lima beans, rinsed and drained
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can hominy, drained
    3 (14 1/2 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
    1 (15 oz.) can red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
    tortilla chips
Preparation
    In a large soup kettle, saute onions in water until tender. Add all ingredients, except tortilla chips.
    Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
    Serve with chips.
