English Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

8 oz. bread (white or brown)
8 oz. (1/2 pt.) milk
2 oz. melted butter
3 oz. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
8 oz. mixed raisins, currants and candied peel
Preparation

Break bread into small pieces; place in deep bowl. Pour milk over bread; mix well. Cover and let sit for 30 minutes.
