Caramel Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    32 caramels
    5 Tbsp. cream
    1 c. flour
    1 c. oatmeal
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 c. soft butter
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Melt caramels in a double boiler with cream.
    Mix flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, soda, butter and salt until crumbly.
    Put half of crumbly mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for 10 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Put on chocolate chips, nuts (optional) and caramel mixture.
    Spread rest of dry mixture over the top.
    Bake 15 minutes more at 350\u00b0.
