Brown Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 sticks margarine or butter
    1 egg yolk (save egg whites)
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream margarine or butter and sugar; add egg yolk, flour and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Roll pieces of dough into small balls, about the size of a marble.
    Press down with prongs of a fork which has been dipped into flour.
    Brush top with unbeaten egg white.
    May top with bit of candied cherry or walnut.
    Bake in a moderate 350\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes or until firm.
