Montego Bay Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. cut up dates
2 Tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. water
1/2 sq. (1/2 oz.) unsweetened chocolate
1/3 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
3/4 c. quick-cooked oats
1/3 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation

Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
Grease square pan (8 x 8 x 2-inch or 9 x 9 x 2-inch).
Cook dates, sugar, water and chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly about 10 minutes or until mixture thickens; cool.
Add rest of ingredients.
Pour in pan.
Bake until done. Cut into squares.
