Linguini With Clam Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. linguini
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams
    1/4 c. finely chopped fresh parsley
    1/4 tsp. basil leaves
    1/4 tsp. oregano leaves
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Prepare linguini according to package directions.
    Drain.
    In heavy saucepan, heat butter and oil.
    Saute garlic and clams over medium heat, 2 to 3 minutes.
    Stir in parsley, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.
    Simmer 5 minutes.
    Add hot cooked linguini to clam mixture; toss lightly.
    Serve on warm platter.
    Parmesan cheese is optional.
