Polly Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb.) can butter beans
    3 (1 lb.) cans Great Northern beans
    1 lb. bacon
    1/4 c. baking molasses (Brer Rabbit orange label, light and mild)
    1/2 c. King syrup (dark)
    1/2 c. dark brown sugar, packed
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 1/2 c. ketchup, thinned with water
    2 Tbsp. mustard
    1/4 tsp. vinegar
    1 large onion, chopped fine
Preparation
    Fry bacon; drain and save 6 tablespoons grease.
    In a saucepan, warm ketchup, onion, mustard, vinegar, brown sugar, King syrup, baking molasses and bacon grease until hot.
    Stir bacon into beans, then pour sauce over beans in a baking pan.
    (Best to use an old iron pot.)
    Stir every now and then after it bubbles. Don't let it get too thick;
    best when juicy.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until the way you like them (thick or thin).
