Old Fashioned Hickory Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
3 c. cake flour
1 c. shredded nuts
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
vanilla

Preparation

This makes a three layer cake or cut one cake in half and place one half on top of the other and in this way have a cake and a half.
