Ingredients

1 c. margarine
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
3-1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream margarine, sugar and eggs.
Add flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar; mix well.
Add nuts and vanilla and mix again.
Form into rolls wrapped in plastic wrap and chill at least 1 hour.
Cut into 1/4 inch slices and put on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8-10 minutes.
