Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. boiling water
    1 c. chopped nuts
    8 oz. chopped pitted dates
    2 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Put baking soda and dates in bowl.
    Cover with boiling water until other ingredients are mixed.
    Cream butter, eggs and sugar together.
    Add flour and date mixture alternately.
    Beat well. Add nuts.
    Grease sides of 2 large juice cans and fill 1/2 full. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
