Date Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients

15 cream filled chocolate cookies
1/2 c. melted butter
1/2 lb. dates
3/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. miniature marshmallows or 16 large ones
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/2 pt. cream
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Crush cookies and mix with butter.
Put in bottom of 8 x 8-inch dish. Chop dates and cook in water with salt until soft. While hot, add marshmallows and nuts.
Spread this over cookie crust and chill.
Whip cream with vanilla.
Spread over date mixture.
Sprinkle crushed crumbs over top for garnish.
Chill overnight.
Freezes and keeps well.
