Ingredients

2 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. maple syrup
2/3 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites
1 c. broken pecans or walnuts
Preparation

Combine first five ingredients in 2-quart heavy saucepan. Cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved.
If sugar crystals form on side of pan, wipe them off.
Continue cooking, without stirring, to hard ball stage (265\u00b0).
Spread on greased cookie sheet.
