Savory Fresh Pole Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh pole beans
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 small clove garlic
    1 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. basil leaves
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/4 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Remove tips from beans and cut in half.
    Heat oil in saucepan. Peel garlic and cook in hot oil until golden.
    Remove garlic and discard.
    Add onion.
    Cook slowly for 3 minutes.
    Add beans, salt, basil, sugar and water.
    Cover and cook slowly for 15 minutes or until beans are crisp-tender.
    Serve hot.
    Yields 6 servings.
