Shrimp Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 to 10 lb. medium shrimp (heads on)
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. flour
5 large onions, chopped
2 bell peppers, chopped
6 ribs celery, chopped (leaves and all)
2 lb. sliced okra, sauteed in oil
2 (14.5 oz.) cans tomatoes
1 to 2 bay leaves
6 qt. shrimp stock
Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning
Preparation

Peel and devein the shrimp.
Set the shrimp aside.
Put the heads and shells in a pot. Cover with water and boil for 30 to 45 minutes.
Strain liquid and add water to make 6 quarts shrimp stock.
