Herbed Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 chicken breast halves (boneless)
    salt and pepper
    1/4 c. butter
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
    3/4 c. Sauterne (white cooking wine)
    1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
    1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
    2 Tbsp. minced bell peppers
    1 tsp. thyme
Preparation
    Lightly salt and pepper chicken.
    Brown slowly in butter using heavy skillet.
    Remove breast and arrange skin side up on baking dish.
    Add soup to skillet drippings and slowly stir in Sauterne. When smooth, add remaining ingredients and heat to boiling.
    Pour sauce over chicken; cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Serve with white rice (4 to 6 servings).
