Granny'S Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch or 1/3 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    3 slightly beaten egg yolks
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 baked pie shell
    meringue (for top)
Preparation
    In heavy saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch or flour and salt. Gradually stir in milk.
    Cook at medium heat until bubbly, stirring constantly.
    Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir small amount hot mix into egg yolks.
    Return to hot mixture.
    Cook another 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter and vanilla, then coconut.
    Mix well.
    Pour into baked pie shell.
    Top with meringue. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes until brown.
