Buttery Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. chopped peanuts
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. margarine
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Heat and stir sugar, syrup and water in 3-quart saucepan until sugar dissolves.
    When syrup boils, blend in margarine.
    Stir often after 230\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Add peanuts at 280\u00b0.
    Stir constantly to hard crack stage (305\u00b0).
    Remove from heat and quickly stir in baking soda, mixing well.
    Pour onto 2 buttered cookie sheets.
    Cool and then break.
