Hawaiian Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked short-grain rice
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. water
    1/4 c. water
    3/4 c. frozen English peas
    vegetable cooking spray
    2 tsp. unsalted butter
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped sweet red pepper
    1 (8 oz.) can unsweetened crushed pineapple, drained
    1 Tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
Preparation
    Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy saucepan; bring to a boil.
    Cover; reduce heat and simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
    Set aside.
    Bring 1/4 cup water to a boil in a saucepan.
    Add peas.
    Cover; reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes or until tender.
    Drain; set aside.
