Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. soft shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/3 c. unsifted flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar (3/4 cup) and egg.
    Sift together and stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.
    Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
    Roll balled cookies in mixture of 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon.
    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake until lightly browned but still soft.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Makes about 2 1/2 dozen 2-inch cookies.
