Grandmother'S Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 c. self-rising flour
    2 c. sugar
    2 whole eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. butter
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Sift 4 cups flour into a large mixing bowl.
    Make a \"well\" in center.
    Pour in sugar, beaten eggs, shortening, butter and vanilla.
    Add buttermilk gradually, working all ingredients into flour.
    Add more flour until a stiff dough is formed.
    Chill for at least 30 minutes.
