Creole String Beans - cooking recipe
Ingredients

12 strips cooked beef bacon
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped green pepper
3 1/2 Tbsp. flour
3 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 3/4 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
3/8 heaping tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. dry mustard
28 oz. peeled tomatoes, canned
28 oz. canned string beans
Preparation

Cook bacon until crisp, remove from skillet.
Add onion and green pepper to 3 tablespoons bacon drippings.
Cook until tender. Blend in flour, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and mustard.
Add tomatoes and juice.
Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Add beans.
Heat crumbled bacon and stir.
