Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. whole wheat flour
2 c. unbleached white flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1 3/4 c. buttermilk
2 c. raisins
Preparation

In large bowl, stir dry ingredients until thoroughly blended. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives until crumbly.
In a separate bowl, beat egg slightly and mix with buttermilk; stir in dry ingredients and raisins until blended.
Turn out on a floured board and knead until smooth (2 to 3 minutes).
