Debra'S Butter Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1 c. milk
    1/3 c. shortening
    sugar
    3 c. milk
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cut shortening into flour.
    Add milk; beat until stiff.
    Roll out about 1/4-inch high.
    Spread liberally with butter.
    Top with sugar.
    Roll like jelly roll.
    Place in 9 x 13-inch glass dish.
    In saucepan, mix milk, sugar and vanilla; scald.
    Pour over roll. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
