Kitchen Potpourri - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. fresh lemon peels (12 lemons)
    1 c. whole cloves
    1/2 c. whole allspice
    3 c. fresh orange peel (8 oranges)
    12 cinnamon sticks, halved
Preparation
    Cut peels into thin strips and spread on baking sheet.
    Dry in oven set on lowest temperature until peel is dry and brittle, approximately 3 1/2 hours.
    Combine dried peel with spices and store in airtight jar.
    Add a large spoonful of mixture to a pan of water.
    Simmer over low heat.
