Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. white cornmeal
1 tsp. flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 small onion, chopped fine
1 well beaten egg
1 tsp. sugar

Preparation

Mix all ingredients, adding the egg last.
Drop from spoon into deep hot fat.
Hush puppies will float to surface and turn golden brown when done.
Drain.
