Apple Pie - cooking recipe

7 to 8 tart apples (Stayman)
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
2 to 3 Tbsp. butter
pastry for 2-crust pie
Preparation

Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
Prepare crust.
Peel, core and slice apples into crust.
Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt and sprinkle over apples.
Dot with butter.
Top with second crust; seal and cut vents for steam.
Brush crust with milk and sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
Bake 40 minutes or until golden brown.
