Cold Cucumber Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 cucumbers, peeled and thinly sliced
    1 small onion, thinly sliced
    1 pt. half and half
    1 qt. buttermilk
    diced, cooked potatoes
Preparation
    Salt onions and cucumbers.
    Let stand in the refrigerator for 2 hours or overnight.
    Add half and half and buttermilk to cucumber mixture; mix well.
    Serve over hot potatoes.
    Good on a hot summer day.
