Powerful Pea Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dried split peas
    1/2 onion, chopped
    4 c. water
    1 baking potato, diced
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1 Tbsp. margarine
Preparation
    Bring peas, onion and water to a boil in a large pot over medium heat. Cook 15 minutes. Add potato and salt. Cook 15 or 20 minutes or until peas and potato are soft. Add evaporated milk and margarine. Heat 5 minutes. Serves 6.
