Country-Style Yellow Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. yellow squash, coarsely chopped
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. water
    6 slices bacon
    1/4 c. margarine, melted
    3 slices white bread, cubed
    1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz.)
    1 (8 oz.) sour cream
    1/4 tsp. dried basil
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Combine first 4 ingredients in a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Cover tightly with heavy-duty plastic wrap; fold back a small corner of wrap to allow steam to escape.
    Microwave at High for 15 to 17 minutes or until tender.
    Drain well; mash squash mixture and set aside.
