Cherry Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 jars of cherries
    1 c oleo
    1/2 c sifted powdered sugar
    2 c sifted flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
    Drain cherries from juice (save juice).
    Set aside.
    Mix oleo, powdered sugar, flour, salt and vanilla together.
    Add enough water to get the mixture the texture of a pie crust.
    Make little balls and flatten in hand.
    Roll 1/2 of a cherry inside dough. Bake at 350\u00b0 until light brown (approx 10-12 minutes). After they cool, roll into icing mixture (recipe follows) completely covering the balls.
    Place on wax paper to dry.
    Makes 5 dozen, depending on size.
