Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 c. raisins, dates, figs or nuts
Preparation

Cream together sugar and shortening.
Beat egg and add to creamed mixture.
Combine dry ingredients.
Next dissolve 2 teaspoons baking soda in 1/4 cup boiling water.
(This will foam up.)
Add applesauce and dry ingredients to creamed mixture, then add boiling water and baking soda to mixture and stir in well. Pour batter into greased Bundt pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for about an hour.
