Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

1 3/4 c. coarsely chopped, peeled apples
1 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Combine apples and sugar in a large bowl and let stand 10 minutes.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Blend into the apple-sugar mixture the oil and egg, then add dry ingredients, stirring until just blended.
Fold in raisins and walnuts.
Spread evenly in a greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 55 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes, then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
