German Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. water
    1 qt. white vinegar
    1 clove garlic
    1 c. kosher salt
    lump of alum
    dill
Preparation
    Boil water, vinegar, salt and alum for 5 minutes.
    Pack dill and 1 clove garlic into bottom of sterilized jar.
    Pack pickles and add more dill.
    Pour hot liquid over pickles and seal.
