Short Ribs Hungarian - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 tsp. salt per lb.
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    2 bay leaves
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. sour cream
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 c. tomato
Preparation
    Sprinkle a heavy skillet with the salt.
    Place short ribs, fat side down, in skillet and brown on all sides; drain off the excess fat.
    Add onion and brown; combine remaining ingredients except sour cream, then pour them over ribs.
    Cover and simmer slowly for 2 hours or until tender, adding more tomato juice if needed.
    Just before serving, stir in sour cream.
    Serve with buttered noodles and poppy seeds; makes 4 to 6 servings.
