Black Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. black turtle beans
    2 ham hocks
    1/2 lb. thick bacon
    1 1/2 c. celery, onion and carrots, chopped
    1 Tbsp. garlic
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. thyme
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    3 Tbsp. cumin
    1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
    2 Tbsp. lime juice
    salt and pepper to taste
    10 c. chicken broth
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight.
    Saute bacon until crisp.
    Add chopped veggies.
    Cook 5 minutes.
    Add garlic, 1 teaspoon cumin and other spices.
    Cook 5 minutes.
    Add beans, ham hocks and broth.
    Cook 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
    Remove ham hocks; pick over and return meat to pot.
    Add rest of cumin, cayenne and lime juice at end.
