Onions, By George - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large Bermuda or Vidalia onions, sliced
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 c. Swiss cheese, grated
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. soy sauce
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 loaf French bread

Preparation
    Saute onions in 2 tablespoons butter until wilted and transparent.
    Remove from heat.
    Add cheese, soup, milk, soy sauce and pepper.
    Spread mixture in 9 x 12-inch baking dish.
    Slice French bread in 1-inch slices.
    Butter top of each slice and place on onion mixture.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes or until bubbly and bread is browned.
