Miss Lillian'S Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. shelled, raw peanuts
    1 tsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Combine the sugar, corn syrup, water and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
    Add the peanuts and cook until nuts become brittle and syrup turns amber.
    Add the butter and vanilla.
    Cook slowly to 300\u00b0, stirring occasionally.
    Remove from heat.
    Add the baking soda; stir well, then pour onto buttered baking sheet. Cool and pull out until very thin.
    Break into desired pieces. Makes 1 pound.
