Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. jam (strawberry or blackberry)
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
Preparation
    Combine shortening, sugar and eggs. Add jam and mix well. Stir in sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Pour into lightly greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan or two 9-inch layer pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes or until done.
