Fruit Cake Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. buttermilk
    2 c. plain flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. cut up dates
    1 c. candied cherries, chopped
    1 c. candied pineapple
Preparation
    Mix Crisco, sugar, egg and milk.
    Sift together and add dry ingredients.
    Mix in pecans and fruit.
    Chill overnight.
    Drop by teaspoon about 2-inches apart on lightly greased sheet.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until brown.
