Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage
    2 large onions
    2 large peppers
    4 medium carrots, chopped
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. white vinegar
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Pour enough very hot water almost boiling plus 1 heaping tablespoonful salt over the first 4 ingredients, cover and let set for 1 hour; drain well.
    Mix the remaining ingredients while mixture is setting.
