Mom'S Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. very lean ground beef
    1 medium green pepper, chopped
    1 large onion, thinly sliced
    3 medium to large cloves garlic, minced
    2 dashes Tabasco (optional)
    2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes, chopped or mashed or 1 qt. home-canned tomatoes
    2 to 3 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 heaping tsp. dried oregano, crumbled
    3/4 tsp. ground cumin
    1 c. hot water
    2 (16 oz.) cans Bush's chili hot beans (can use pinto or kidney beans)
Preparation
    In a Dutch oven, brown beef.
    Skim off fat.
    Add green pepper, onion and garlic and saute until slightly limp.
    Add rest of ingredients, except beans and simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes. Slightly drain beans and add to chili.
    Simmer 15 minutes.
