Indiana Picnic Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 c. flour
    1/4 lb. margarine
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 egg
    1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Makes a thin batter.
    Before baking, sprinkle with 1 cup reserved mixture.
    Bake in greased and lightly floured pan at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Very good picnic cake.
