Scripture Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. flour
2 Tbsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
1/4 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
6 eggs, separated
2 c. raisins
2 c. chopped dried figs
1 Tbsp. almond extract
1 Tbsp. honey
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation

Stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cream butter into sugar, add lightly beaten egg yolks.
Gradually mix the dry ingredients with the butter and egg mixture.
Beat egg whites until fluffy and stir in.
Add 1/2 cup water and balance of ingredients. Beat well and turn into 9-inch square pans, greased and floured. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 1 hour.
