Apple Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. lard or Crisco
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. crushed cornflakes
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    7 to 8 sliced apples
    1 egg, separated
    1 tsp. sugar
    milk
Preparation
    Mix flour, Crisco and salt like pie crust.
    Add egg yolk and milk to make 3/4 cup, beat, add to flour mixture.
    Roll out and cover a 10 x 15-inch pan or cookie sheet, use 1/2 of pie crust. Mix together cornflakes, sugar and apples.
    Spread on top of crust. Cover apple mixture with other 1/2 of pie crust mixture.
    Beat egg white and sugar, spread over crust.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
