Banana Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 1/2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. mashed ripe bananas
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3/4 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda.
Mash bananas; add lemon juice and mix.
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Fold in bananas and nuts.
Beat after each addition.
Pour into 2 greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean.
Cool in pans 10 minutes.
Remove to wire rack.
Makes 2 loaves.
