Crunchy Sausage Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 (6 oz.) pkg. long grain and wild rice mix
1 lb. bulk pork sausage
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 large onion, chopped
1 (8 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
3 Tbsp. light soy sauce
3 to 4 stalks celery, chopped
3/4 c. red and green bell peppers, chopped or cut into thin strips
1 (2 oz.) pkg. sliced almonds
Preparation

Cook rice according to package directions; set aside.
Brown sausage and ground beef in skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain. Combine rice and meat mixture; add all other ingredients except almonds, and mix thoroughly.
Spoon into ungreased 2 or 3 quart casserole; sprinkle with almonds.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 50 minutes. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
