Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift together dry ingredients; cut in shortening.
    Stir in milk only until blended.
    Drop by spoonfuls onto chicken or meat in boiling meat stock.
    Cook 10 minutes with kettle uncovered and 10 minutes tightly covered.
    Remove dumplings and meat to hot platter.
    Keep hot while making gravy.
    Pour part of gravy around them.
    Serve the remainder separately.
